Certainly A Better Value Than Adobe Acrobat Pro, But A Bit Unrefined and Buggy
Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)
We are using Kofax Power PDF primarily to create exhibits and exhibit packets for e-filing with local Circuit Courts.
Pros
- Creates PDFs from JPG files.
- Aggregates PDF files into one larger PDF file.
- Looks like a Windows app (specifically, looks a lot like the MS Office Word interface).
Cons
- It's a bit buggy. I've had it crash or freeze several times.
- It's needs more options for header and footer creation.
- The right click (context) menu has confusingly similar names/options.
- It has saved us money by being cheaper than Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- It has cost us time and money by being buggy and crashing.
It is not intuitive. If not for some experimentation, we never would have been able to get it to work. After making three sets of combined PDFs, I think we've figured out how to make it work-- most of the time.
I've tried Nitro PDF and Adobe Acrobat Pro, and I think Kofax is still the best value (even though it's buggy, crashes, and a bit unintuitive).
