Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

I use the automated batch conversion tool to make scanned PDF files into searchable PDF files. I also use Power PDF to edit and combine PDF files.
  • The batch conversion process runs in the background.
  • Converts images to searchable text.
  • Lower price-point than Adobe Acrobat
  • Windows preview engine does not work with Power PDF.
  • Power PDF app is slow to open compared to Adobe Reader.
  • I no longer need to manually run PDFs through an OCR saving time.
  • I no longer have a monthly subscription cost for Acrobat.
Ease of use is about on par with Acrobat. It seems a little slower.
Power PDF offers similar feature of Acrobat Pro at a lower price point. However, Acrobat does not offer the batch processing feature.
I have not used their support, so I cannot evaluate their support.

The batch processing feature is the most valuable to many workflow.
The cost of ownership is lower than using a comparable Adobe product.

The Advance version is not good for enterprise usage.
