Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)
I use the automated batch conversion tool to make scanned PDF files into searchable PDF files. I also use Power PDF to edit and combine PDF files.
- The batch conversion process runs in the background.
- Converts images to searchable text.
- Lower price-point than Adobe Acrobat
- Windows preview engine does not work with Power PDF.
- Power PDF app is slow to open compared to Adobe Reader.
- I no longer need to manually run PDFs through an OCR saving time.
- I no longer have a monthly subscription cost for Acrobat.
Ease of use is about on par with Acrobat. It seems a little slower.
Power PDF offers similar feature of Acrobat Pro at a lower price point. However, Acrobat does not offer the batch processing feature.
