Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

Primary utilization of Kofax Power PDF is .tiff view and conversion to .pdf. Kofax Power PDF has resolved the implementation of bates number schemes for document archives in batch mode.
  • Application of batch bates numbering.
  • Conversion to/from tiff & pdf file formats.
  • Converting pdf to multipage tiff format.
  • Easily converts selected file/files in a folder from tiff to pdf via right click popup.
  • OCR conversion is around 95% accurate on low resolution documents (which is very impressive and saves a ton of time).
  • Kofax Power PDF has difficulty removing bates numbers once saved.
  • The high reliability of the OCR feature in Kofax Power PDF saves a tremendous amount of time proofreading data when moving information to other applications.
The features in Kofax Power PDF are quite intuitive making it easy to use right out of the gate. Novice computer users would be able to easily complete tasks with little/no additional training required.
While Acrobat probably has the name recognition, the cost of Pro over Reader is an issue for smaller operations. Kofax Power PDF eclipses Adobe Acrobat Reader in functionality and is more user friendly than Adobe Acrobat Pro (imho) at a lower out-of-pocket cost.
I have never had to use tech support for Kofax Power PDF due to the stellar in app "help" feature.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR), single and multipage tiff handling, conversion to .xls, and conversion to .doc are a few of the features which have proven most valuable to my workflow by using Kofax Power PDF.
Kofax Power PDF is excellent for viewing and manipulating .pdf files. It is excellent at converting .pdf to .doc. Kofax Power PDF has has some difficulty converting multiple page .pdf to .xls for charts/spreadsheets but is still the best option out there (imho).
