Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

I used Kofax Power PDF to scan in and save my work papers for bookkeeping, payroll, and income tax returns that I prepared. This product by being a one-time purchase was the solution to avoid a monthly fee forever to use Adobe PDF products.
  • Easily combine multiple pages into one pdf file
  • Insert or Extract pages from an already combined pdf file
  • Using the typewriter feature, it is easy to make notes anywhere on a page of a PDF document
  • Sometimes the software will lose network connection which can only be reconnected by a restart of the computer.
  • It would be nice to be able to change the typewriter settings before beginning to type unless I have overlooked something, you set the default, and then if you want to change that for one time, you can't do it until you click on the page and start to type.
  • Savings of paper purchases. With Kofax Power PDF, I was able to scan original documents and work with them in digital format.
  • Savings of time. By being able to scan in 99% of the documents that I needed, I saved massive amounts of time at a copy machine.
  • Savings of money. Time is money, every minute saved by not running to a copy machine to have to make one or two copies was time I could spend on doing the actual work that brought in income.
I found the software easy to use because I had used Adobe Acrobat before. The similarities are many. Even if you had never used a similar product, the Kofax Power PDF software is easy to use.
I think Kofax Power PDF is just as good as Adobe Acrobat. Everything that I needed to do, was there and easy to maneuver. I chose Kofax for the lifetime licenses at one purchase price.
I only had to call support once since using the software. They were really helpful and got me through the issue that I was having.

The combine feature as well as the typewriter feature proved to be the most valuable, with the watermark feature factoring in occasionally.
The software is well suited for anything that one might use Adobe Acrobat for. Scan, copy, combine. I used the software many times as a copy machine by using the scan to copy feature. I never had any situations where the software would not do what I needed. I am sure there might be some instances, but in my experience, it always came through for me.
