Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance Power PDF)

Personally, I consult for other individuals to assist with documents, projects, and programs. I use Kofax Power PDF [(formerly Nuance Power PDF)] to upload PDF files to my computer for editing. I am also a graduate student and take advantage of this pdf editing and converting software in my assignments. This is for personal use. This addresses difficulty in transferring paper documents into an editable format as willing as converting documents between formats.
  • Scanning documents. I have had severe trouble trying to scan documents into my laptop in a way that is clear and convenient.
  • Editing text from scanned documents. This is my primary use of this software and I love how easy it is! It helps me to fix spelling mistakes when proofreading for others.
  • Convert to different format. I usually get documents in assignments as word documents but I need to submit them as pdfs so this is extremely helpful with very little distortion in the conversion process.
  • When scanning documents into my laptop. The program offers to "scan to new" or "scan to existing" and asks where to place the new page. This has proved useful when scanning in 20+ pages for different projects.
  • When I can in documents with photos and try to align everything after editing the text, it really throws the alignment so bad that I have to use only the text. This could be improved upon.
  • The ability to change font color in editable text would be useful.
  • The ability to convert to a google document since this format is so widely used now.
  • Time saving with large numbers of documents to scan in.
  • Time saving with editing documents electronically instead of needing to use an old-fashioned red pen and rewrite the whole thing.
  • Cost increases because I can do more assignments in a shorter period and therefore can make more money.
My experience was convenient and easy. I found this program to be revolutionary for my freelance business. I saved time and money but also experienced benefits to use for graduate school and unexpected uses. I continue to learn more about this program as I use it but I am loving how I can explore the different functions and find more and more cool things I can do.
This program has unique features that set it apart from the other programs I am familiar with. Rather than replacing these programs, Kofax Power PDF Advanced adds to my ability to use these other programs. This is because when I have a document, I may need to scan in from hard copy, convert to Microsoft word, add my changes, convert back to pdf, then email it. Kofax Power PDF Advanced gives me ability to make this easy.
I have not used support for this program but I can tell that is readily available and easy to use. The sheer availability and such lengthiness of this questionnaire really demonstrates how support is evaluated, valued, and readily available. As a consumer, I feel like my opinion is valued and that issues will be readily addressed and solved.

Kofax Power PDF offers many features that are beneficial to me as a freelance proofreader for a variety of clients as well as a graduate student. Some of the best features are: create- Scan to new, Scan to existing, and combine files, convert- MS word, Excel, Powerpoint, Convert- Convert to editable, Modify- Crop, Exit text, Annotate- Note, Textbox, and Markup- Highlight, Cross-out, Underline.
[Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance Power PDF)] is well-suited for students needing to upload, convert, and submit assignments. It has been the most appropriate for me as a freelance proofreader because I received documents in many different forms and need the ability to make changes and send them back to the client. This software is less appropriate if the user typically doesn't use hard copy documents that they need to edit or uses mostly microsoft word or google docs and rarely pdf formats.
