Overall Satisfaction with LexisNexis Quicklaw

We occasionally revert to Lexis for legal research but primarily locate documents via Westlaw or PACER. I've toyed with the Microsoft Word plugin, but it is really not as helpful as it sounds. I have tried out a lot of their various tools and integrations. Each is a great concept in theory but they fail to live up to expectations.
  • Apps
  • Integrations
  • Citations
  • The app's search engine often won't load
  • Interface isn't as good as others
  • Statutes are hard to find
  • Great for citations -- we have used it when writing briefs
  • Good as a backup or secondary resource
  • Integrates with MS Word
We have access, and therefore use it as a secondary resource or use it when an integration is convenient. Lexis offers a lot of various integrations and apps but they all have various issues. I feel like they should concentrate on just having one solid research service rather than attempting to compete with Westlaw by having a ton of various offerings but not a solid platform. It's really not terrible and all the sources you need are usually there, but it can be a bit buggy.
Lexis is really just best suited if you don't have access to Westlaw. Overall, it it does get the job done, but the user experience is not the best. Searches could be better indexed and relevant information (e.g. cases, statutes, issues, past searches) aren't as easily accessible. If you aren't doing a ton of additional research it is good for blue book citations.
