Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

Working with the correct resale partner is key. Our vendor was fantastic.
Lifesize Video Conferencing is used across the entire organization. We have offices across 2 states, and it allows departments to hold meetings without requiring people to travel. Remote employees use the desktop version to connect to conference rooms and other staff members.
  • It's easy to invite people with and without Lifesize Cloud accounts to a meeting.
  • Video calls can be made through a web browser. We don't have to require attendees to install software.
  • The desktop client can be pushed out using Active Directory group policies
  • The Lifesize Cloud management portal is a bit clunky. It could use a redesign.
  • Travel has been reduced significantly
  • Collaboration between offices has been increased as teams meet regularly to discuss projects and procedures
  • State agencies and groups have begun using our offices to hold video conferences because of the quality and ease of use
  • Cisco TelePresence
Features are comparable, but Lifesize is much less expensive.
The cost may be prohibitive for some people, but it's far less expensive than other solutions.

Using Lifesize Video Conferencing

2 - All members of IT are responsible for providing support for the systems, but it only requires basic technical knowledge. It's not a difficult system to support or maintain. User creation and client installations are very straightforward.
  • Reduce travel cost between remote offices
  • Increase communication within departments
  • Conduct multi-site staff trainings
  • Conduct customer/client conference calls and webinars
  • Provide equipment access to partner organizations
The equipment has given us everything we had hoped for, at a reasonable cost. It's easy to use, greatly increases communication, and has saved us money in mileage and travel costs. There's no need for us to research or switch to a different solution.
  • We had a board member participate in a board meeting from a cafe in Paris while on vacation.
  • Our conference rooms have been loaned out to State agencies for collaboration meetings on several occasions.
25 - All business functions have used the conferencing equipment. Staff training, manager meetings, new hire orientations, and Board of Director meetings have all been conducted using the equipment.

Evaluating Lifesize Video Conferencing and Competitors

I wouldn't change anything. We're happy with our selection, and our implementation partner was and continues to be outstanding. This project was extremely well received within my organization, and continues to pay dividends today.

As a non-profit, price is always an important factor for us when purchasing new technology. When we compared Lifesize to other solutions, we found that usability and features were comparable, but the cost was quite a bit lower. At that point, it was an easy decision to make, and we have no regrets.

Lifesize Video Conferencing Implementation

Yes - We had a multi-office installation. The equipment was installed in our headquarters first, followed by several remote offices.
Change management was minimal
  • We only had one minor issue with scheduling a 3rd part vendor to mount a monitor. It was quickly sorted out and the implementation proceeded smoothly.

We routinely use the system for training.

Configuring Lifesize Video Conferencing

Everything we've wanted to configure has been available, so I believe configurability is just right for this product. We were even able to connect the system to our VOIP phone system.

We were having a problem with conferences freezing when multiple offices connected. I worked with support to create an online meeting room so they could monitor the traffic to troubleshoot the problem. Once the cause was identified a fix was released in a patch.

Lifesize Video Conferencing Reliability

We haven't had any problems adding new devices to our collection of Lifesize equipment.
We have had very few issues with our Lifesize equipment, and most of those have been resolved simply by rebooting the device.

Our vendor is very responsive and communicates with us regularly.
