Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

Implementation was easy and seamless. We have a wonderful rep that is always available for us, and that checks in frequently to see how things are going.
We are a state wide non-profit project. Due to the fact we have about 40 employees state wide, we use lifesize video conferencing to connect individually, in departmental teams and as a project overall. It allows us to connect with larger groups of people even outside of our state, and cuts down on travel costs and expenses while also opening up the opportunity to meet more often.
  • Connects our team quickly and efficiently. We can dial in from any electronic device, no matter where we are or what we are doing. Since we all travel, this has been a huge time saver and helps us to time manage more effectively.
  • Provides quality sound and on screen imagery. Sound is clear no matter the size conference room we have used.
  • Deleting chat history. They are only relevant to current conversations, but if you go in to chat at a later time, you have a history of it that is not necessary.
It is well suited if you have multiple staff located in different locations, or for companies that have clients/customers around the world. A simple click and invite, and you are instantly connected. If you are on the go traveling often, having this available on your phone, iPod, or laptop makes connecting even easier.

Using Lifesize Video Conferencing

40 - A basic understanding of how it is used, how to use it and setting up, managing the conference rooms and users.

Evaluating Lifesize Video Conferencing and Competitors

Yes - It replaced Google Hangout for video conferencing and Adobe for conference calls. Though both also allowed us to use screen sharing, it lacked it versatility. We'd get disconnected, have service provider interruptions and were often limited as to who could host based on licensing restrictions. Lifesize allows us all to share our screen quickly, we have had great connectivity and the product itself is high quality.
I would involve more key unit coordinators in the selection. I would have them maybe beta test it for feedback and usability. We saw it in action, but didn't get a hands on training per se or a chance to beta test it before purchasing.
We still use the Icon 600, but we use it only for larger team meetings, trainings, and conferences. For Video Conferencing, it beats all we've used hands down. It is accessible on any electronic device, taking meetings mobile. It's sleek and convenient, with out the need for lengthy phone numbers, host access and sign in codes. We selected it because it allowed us to be mobile as a state wide project, connect quickly and efficiently, and cost. We already had the Lifesize Icon 600, so we were familiar with the product. A very easy decision for us, and an easy transition.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
  • Existing Relationship with the Vendor
Product usability was probably the single most important factor. We have employees state wide and this allows us to connect and come together without the travel costs. Prior experience as well as our existing relationship with our vendor (who knew this product would match our needs and had our best interest in mind) would be a very close second for us making this decision.

Lifesize Video Conferencing Implementation

  • Vendor implemented
  • Implemented in-house
Yes - We began with on-boarding from Lifesize, as well as my sales rep offering a majority of the training and set up. It was then implemented to our staff who began using it almost immediately. Once they saw how easy it was to use, it quickly began replacing other avenues of meeting.
Change management was minimal - To have a step by step plan in place before rolling it out would have been helpful, as well as how it would be replacing other tools we were using (more of a pros/ cons list).
  • Getting employees onboard with the change
  • Explaining the Why of the change in how we were meeting
  • The differences in Icon 600 and the Video Conferencing

Lifesize Video Conferencing Support

I work one on one with our vendor's rep, who is very knowledgable in Cloud. He was the one who presented the product to us and knew in the beta phase how well it would serve our needs. He is always looking out for us and has our best interest at hand.

My rep at iCi is always available, and willing and able to help and be on standby for large conferences. He provides us exceptional support to the point we have contracted him to help support a multi location state wide training! Adam is knowledgeable in the product and services of Lifesize.
