Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's no longer being used by our business. A specific department pushed to purchase this as a collaboration tool, and in the past six months, it has been used about two times, one of those being a test call.

Pros and Cons

Calling other LifeSize systems.

Integrating with other chat systems.
Stability.
General functionality, ease of use.

Return on Investment

Lifesize has not increased collaboration, efficiency, and/or productivity.
The system is overpriced and the subscription model is useless.

Implementation Rating

The system has a bulk of wiring to set up. It's impossible to integrate with modern technologies reasonably. To set the system up to work in a proper conference room, additional wiring and add-ons have to be purchased. Implementation of the software required multiple meetings with the technical support from Lifesize and they were unable to provide a solution. We had to come up with and implement our own solution.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business (formerly Lync), Webex Events, GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar

We only implemented the Lifesize video conferencing system because a bullheaded C level executive demanded it. I recommended against it throughout the entire process, as it is a poor implementation of all the technology it uses.

Likelihood to Recommend

Lifesize Video Conferencing is great at calling other Lifesize systems but other than that, it isn't appropriate for much. I would venture to say that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that needs a video conferencing system unless the other party specifically states that they have a Lifesize Video Conferencing system.
