Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
Our team has been using Litmus for several years now, and I didn't know of its existence when I originally joined the company. We use it in our Campaign Team that mainly does email marketing. Before each send, we run a spam test on our emails to make sure our bounce rate is as low as possible. The checklist function is a big plus, where you can check how your email looks in all browsers, email clients and across all devices. Integration is Salesforce Marketing Cloud is available but is quite pricy. That's the only downside I see for now. Litmus helped us hugely by showing us how our mails look in Dark Mode, which is getting increasingly popular amongst our readers. This is something our team didn't consider yet but was well worth looking at!
Pros
- Spam testing
- Compare mails across browsers, email clients, and devices
- Easy: Set up a Litmus address, send your mail to that address, and test away!
- Tips on improving mail for Outlook
- Tips on preparing for Dark Mode
Cons
- Price of Salesforce integration
- Only possible to compare one email in 2 different versions - I would like to compare four at once.
- Team has to spend less time testing each other's emails
- Shorter review cycles
- Taking every client's mailing environment into account
We are using Salesforce, but cannot afford the integration.
Litmus helped us take into account each client's mail environment, which perfectly fits our strategy to serve each customer in accordance with his or her own needs. It also provided us with good insights into the determinants of our bounce rate, which is an often used KPI in our Marketing team.
In our team, screening with Litmus is mainly used by the creator of the email him- or herself. It is a first way of making sure everything looks great. After that, we campaign test within our team. Changing our flow to making everyone share and comment in Litmus might be better, given it would limit the bias of our team all checking the mails in the same email client.
I have not used any other tools yet. I am not the decision maker of the software we use in our team.
