Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

The fact that we can import new images into platform is what makes Lucidchart extensive and usable in long-term. I find it really easy to use.
We use Lucidchart to outline software service architecture diagrams. The ease of use, the ability to import new images without any hassle, and the flexibility of UI components are one of the most useful features that came to my mind at first iteration.

It solves the problem of eliminating the lack of communication and requirements of expressing our ideas to each other with every single detail, including data modelling, communication protocols, components, etc.

Pros

  • Importing new images with zero hassle: The platform allows us to use google images with the built-in components. Great feature!
  • Arrow resizing feature: I liked it very much. I reshape the arrow sizes and directions a lot. Great work, team!
  • Ability to share the diagram with others, and cooperate on it.
  • Ease of use: I had no mentorship to get myself onboard.

Cons

  • After a while, the everlasting "premium upgrade" prompts and popups became annoying. These can be more user-friendly and let users do the work in parallel. You can still ask the user to upgrade to premium, but the fact that it blocks UX is kind of annoying.
  • Controlling overlapping components might be sometimes hard.
  • Got us faster into brainstorming sessions, so saved time.
  • Saved individual efforts to cooperate. Again, saved time.
These aforementioned companies are which most enterprise companies use in their tech stack. So, while outlining a diagram, we have no chance but to use these integrated tools developed by Amazon, Google, Atlassian etc. So I fully support this decision of integrating these tools into platform. I'd like to see more integrations like these in future.
