Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

It has a great level of depth, but is also unintimidating for those who are new to the service or looking for more simple solutions. I was able to quickly find the tools that I needed, and was actually guided by the service to try a new tool that I hadn't considered, which ended up saving a lot of time.
Our executives are currently using Lucidchart to create a comprehensive organizational chart in order to streamline our operations and reduce inefficiencies across all departments. Our company is in the process of moving to a new location while also undergoing a number of changes in our personnel, operations & production, etc., so a clear and concise breakdown of all roles, responsibilities, chains of command, and so on is critical.

Pros

  • Very intuitive interface, making it quick and easy to identify the needed tools, settings, menus, etc.
  • Great visual design, including loads of templates to choose from, that gives charts a consistent style that is easy to interpret.
  • The data import feature is especially useful, as it can quickly turn large lists of information into complete, multi-level organizational charts.

Cons

  • There were a few hiccups when trying to add to or edit a chart created from an excel sheet. It wasn't totally clear what the proper process for making those changes would be.
  • It was a little difficult to find how to manually connect adjacent boxes with a dotted line.
  • Using this service has saved at least a full day's worth of labor in just the past week that we've used it.
  • After using Lucidchart to create our organizational chart, cross-departmental communication has increased noticeably in a short period of time due to greater clarity and understanding of roles, responsibilities, and chain of command.
  • Lucidchart allowed us to more easily share and communicate the exact personnel needs of our company, increasing the efficiency of our HR team.
At this stage in our use of Lucidchart we've only briefly utilized its integration with other services, but this is a huge plus looking forward. We've already seen how much time can be saved by importing data from an Excel sheet, so we are certainly interested in exploring other ways these services can increase our efficiency.
While none of our team members were familiar with Lucidchart prior to our test run in making our organizational chart, the results speak for themselves, and everyone is thrilled with both the quality and the speed of the service. I'm not yet sure what the support is like for the additional features of the program, but we'll see.

After struggling for hours to make an organizational chart for a ~100 person company by hand in another app, I decided to try Lucidchart and was blown away at how simple it was. It has a great selection of templates, and the option to import lists/data from a spreadsheet saved a ton of time. It's easy to use, but also has an impressive level of depth for those that really want to dive in and utilize the more advanced features.
