Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

Lucidchart is the most intuitive, flow chart tool I have ever used. It does take some time to get to all of the shapes and their different roles, but the general use does not require any extensive training or tutorial.
Our assay products have complex process flows that are easily visualized through Lucidchart. This enables us to communicate highly complex programs across many cross-functional groups internally. Our organization has an extensive portfolio of products, which is clarified by Lucidchart diagrams. It is great for process development, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring efficiency.

Pros

  • Easy, intuitive interface
  • Lots of functionality when designing flow charts
  • Great for visual, kinesthetic learners
  • Smart lines make clean, precise flow charts easily

Cons

  • Hard to visualize very large process maps, constantly zooming in and out
  • Increase productivity and time savings when creating presentations and reports
  • More professional looking visualizations
In lab automation, I use Atlassian, google, Slack, and Github. Lucidchart is easily integrated across all of these platforms, which is a nice feature. It is not a necessity, as you can easily send links, which means its not a blocker if there is no integration.
I have not used support for Lucidchart. I attest to the ease of use and great experience that I have had, which has led me to never reach out for support.

Great for process maps, detailed, and easy to create. However, it can become less appropriate if the workflow is too complex (i.e. the process map text can no longer be visualized because there are too many steps that require the user to zoom out to see the entire flow chart).
