Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

It was quick to get started from creating an account on Lucidchart to generating our first system diagram.
We are using Lucidchart to easily create and share system architecture diagrams that include hardware peripheral components as well as software elements. It was fairly intuitive to pick up and use the tool and collaborate easily since it all runs in your browser. Currently, it is being used in a small team in our organization but I can use cases for it to be scaled and used across the organization.

Pros

  • Provides a number of templates across different domains
  • Integration with various collaboration and other productivity tools
  • Easy to collaborate and share ideas

Cons

  • Inclusion of more technical domains for templates and shapes
  • Free trial has very limited templates to explore.
  • Arrow dragging can be a bit sluggish.
  • Too new to gauge impact of the tool so far, however, creating and sharing our first architecture diagram was a breeze and definitely saved us some hours in procuring and installing MS visio or such on our computers.
Slack integration so far has been wonderful and a breeze to setup!
We haven't needed to use any support for Lucidchart yet.

Much more fluid and easy to use, and the integrations makes it very quick to share ideas/diagrams with other team members.
Lucidchart is a great place for brain dumps of ideas and half baked architecture designs that one can improve when creating the diagrams and use the same platform for sharing and documenting finalized designs as well. The provision of a variety of templates across disciplines makes it possible to be the common language across different functional groups in an organization.
