Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

I haven't been using Lucid for long, and while it was a bit of a transition at first, it only took a few hours of mapping to get comfortable with unfamiliar functionality.
Our whole organization uses Lucidchart. I use it for all sorts of purposes, from diagraming team hierarchical structures to data flow, process maps, etc. It helps us to identify opportunities to restructure our teams for improved communication, improve our workflows for greater efficiency or reorganize our software for increased simplification.
  • Process Mapping - specifically adjustment to the map after you've already created it. Those can be the most painful because you have to reorganize everything, but much of it is easy with Lucidchart.
  • Easily customize standard formatting for shapes or other visual tools.
  • It is very flexible and will easily adapt to whatever type of chart you're trying to build.
  • So far, I'm getting used to the different functionality, and I'm impressed that I've been able to find everything I want, even if it is a little different than what I am used to.
  • In a world of "just-in-time" learning, with an extensive library of shapes, it would be awesome to have a link for each shape type that takes you to a page with education around what the best practices are for the use of that variety of shapes.
  • I like that templates are pre-populated as it helps see how they've been used, but it would be nice to have a blank template option, so you don't have to go to the trouble of erasing all the text and/or shapes that you don't need.
  • Even as a new user, Lucid has cut my process mapping time in half.
  • The ability to have shared file folders within Lucid has helped me view and keep track of a significant number of files I need to get up to speed on what my co-workers are working on.
  • With shared team files, sharing is passive, so you don't have to worry as much about missing proactive sharing steps.
I love that we can share Lucid maps in MS Teams, and in our project management software - Asana, productboard, Jira, etc.
The only lack of support I've heard has come from people who have a preference for a different software, but not for any particular reason other than familiarity.

Lucid is great for process maps or process flows which is where I typically use it. I have not had extensive experience with A3 creation yet or with significant collaboration on a project, but I look forward to testing that functionality as it becomes more relevant to my work.
