Overall Satisfaction with Marketo
Primarily one department uses it to send out emails to our database. We also store assets within it and use it to track lead activity, etc.
- Customizing email campaigns.
- Complex segmentation
- Activity log tracking
- Ease of use and user-friendly interface
- Real-time updating
- Direct email template changes
- Integrations with other software
- Product Launches
- Lead Management
- Prospecting / New Business
We are trying to educate and nurture leads so that they will develop an interest in our products. We want to use the data to look at conversions.
Marketo is best for enterprise companies that want to create complex campaigns and robust communications, with analytics tracking, etc., while other options are less robust.

Learnings & Advice
Marketo has allowed me to track touchpoints with stakeholders and easily set up automated email campaigns.
I use Marketo to set up the actual operations of an asset download, but also connect it with Salesforce and other programs. The data is important for us to store, and at the same time, the stakeholder gets exactly what they want because Marketo sets up a smooth operational flow.
Marketo might seem complicated at first, but it's the best automated email marketing tool out there and is important to learn. Definitely look at the existing resources out there and play around with it at first. Oftentimes when you run into a problem, it's going to be a small one, where you forgot to set up a filter or trigger a campaign or something like that, so it's important to be attentive to detail and be willing to problem solve.
You can't learn Marketo without the community! Engaging with other Marketo users has been a huge help for learning the software. There are lots of available online resources as well.
The Marketo class training is helpful. I would highly recommend playing with the software first and studying online resources, then taking the course. It made a huge difference for me.
