Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Matillion to consume our SaaS data organization-wide. From this data, we build dashboards to operate the business including finance, employee productivity, and sales. By leveraging our data sources in real time, it allows us to make better data-driven decisions, and prevent operating by the seat of our pants.

Matillion provides immediate ROI due to its powerful interface and pay by the hour model.

Usability

The user interface is well laid out despite the complex workflows and underlying power of the tool. As an EC2 instance, it's extensible by allowing you to log in to the instance and add functionality by using Python. Multiple users can collaborate and/or work in their own spaces, allowing the entire team to get involved.

Time to Value

We were up and running in a number of days. Matillion provided great onboarding, training, and online resources to get started.

Scalability

So far we haven't run into any scaling issues.

Alternatives Considered

Fivetran

Matillion simply does more, supports more third-party connection options, and doesn't financially cripple you with antiquated licensing models.

Likelihood to Recommend

Aside from a lot of great integrations already built in, Matillion is well suited to connect to any data source with an API. This allows us to move beyond the applications which enjoy mass adoption and to pull data in from edge case sources. This improves our ability to work with a wider number of customers to help solve their unique problems.
