Overall Satisfaction with Mattermost

We are starting to use Mattermost along with Slack for cross team and cross organization communication.
  • Good usability
  • Good with our project management and workflows
  • Good tool for the Enterpise
  • Need more integrations from other products with Mattermost
  • Increased collaboration
  • More responsive to operational issues
  • Better integrations with other monitoring tools
We have not modified the source code.
We were able to integrate it fairly quickly. This is a real plus for this service.
Kind of a different space - more power than what you get with Google messaging.

This has been effective with communications across teams outside my immediate team. We are able to use it for threading and we can use it across multiple channels. When we need immediate feedback with one of our partners we get updates on the status of their service. We have become more productive since we starting using Mattermost.

Using Mattermost

2000 - The users of Mattermost primarily are involved with building product. This includes heads of engineering, product managers, project managers, software developers, QA, devops, releases engineering, performance engineering, quality management, technical documentation writers, system admins, database admins and many more.
5 - The people who support Mattermost are primarily IT and leaders within product teams.

  • we primarily plan to use it for product collaborating
  • in the future it may be used with integrating with products that we use for building product.
so far the teams that use it are liking it. There does not appear to be a significant reason (or alternative) to change.
