Overall Satisfaction with memoQ
We use memoQ as one of the main CAT tools for localization projects. We have the memoQ Cloud Server and also some separate desktop licenses for our PMs. The Cloud server gives us extra translator licenses so our translators do not need to purchase memoQ to complete the translations. We use memoQ for a variety of clients with different needs.
- Processing difficult files for translation, such as multi-lingual excel files.
- Very good and easy to work translation editor in the desktop version.
- Regex tagger to tag strings using regular expressions.
- Selection of multiple segments is not possible (you can select multiple segments that are following each other by holding down the shift key but not randomly selected segments by holding the Ctrl key or so).
- Make it easier to use filter configurations of a file already used in a project when adding a new file of the same type.
- Multi-lingual excel filter
- Use of regex
- Flexible bilingual doc export/import
- Able to handle projects with difficult files that we would otherwise need to edit before translating.
- Locking/tagging segments and strings with regex to reduce translation volume/cost.
I believe memoQ is the best of these 3 tools. It has soo much functionality. I wish I could use it for all my projects, but we have a lot of clients that want to use either Memsource or SDL Trados Studio. As for the Web Editor, our translators seem to prefer Memsource over memoQ, so this might be something memoQ can improve in the future.
