Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)

Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] is being used across our entire organization. It helped address the issue of management of an onsite Exchange server. Using Microsoft 365 has freed us from the time and expense of managing an on-premise Exchange server. Cloud storage and collaboration also allows users at our company to work on and share files easily, regardless of location. Multiple users can edit a file at the same time and we no longer need to maintain on onsite file server. With the recent push to work from home, Microsoft 365 has helped make this process as seamless as possible.
  • Multiple users can edit the same spreadsheet.
  • Files are accessible from anywhere with Internet access.
  • Office applications are available online, no need to install apps.
  • Files can be synced locally selectively, saving space.
  • Local Exchange server management is eliminated.
  • Outages have become more frequent.
  • Applications can be unavailable if Windows incorrectly detects "No Internet Access"
  • Costs can easily increase when adding users and services.
  • Cloud hosted - no local servers
  • Easy file sharing and collaboration
  • Availability of online office apps for systems with lesser resources
  • Cloud hosted servers require less cost to purchase and maintain.
  • Less staff is required to manage the system.
  • Less software purchases are required as they are included with the Microsoft 365 subscription.
  • Separate services to share files with clients and co-workers are no longer needed, saving time and cost.
Simply put, Microsoft 365 has been much easier to use at a comparable cost to other products. Cost and management requirements are much lower than Microsoft Exchange. The ability to integrate so easily with Windows and Microsoft Office apps as well as easily selectively syncing files has made the product much better than Axcient x360Sync. Easier integration with Microsoft Office apps and easy collaboration has made the product better for us than Dropbox.

N-able N-central (formerly Solarwinds N-Central), ConnectWise Manage, ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect)
Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] is particularly well suited for company that would like to implement a work from home or remote work policy. The system allows for easy collaboration regardless of location. Microsoft 365 is most appropriate for small businesses that do not justify the cost and time of managing an on-premise Exchange server. Microsoft 365 is less appropriate for large businesses where installing and manage local servers may be more cost effective than adding a large number of users to Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 may also be less appropriate for businesses without reliable Internet access as files are stored and shared online.
