Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
We use Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)] to manage most of the collaboration and communication within our university. We use it for e-mail, calendar, chat and communication, and documents (and sharing of documents). It helps bring all of our communication and documentation into a single location, easily shared throughout our organization and teams.
Pros
- Covers many needs in one central place
- Sharing
- Collaboration
- Communication
Cons
- Sometimes the design can be confusing
- Notifications in the Teams app are non-native on the Mac, so they are annoying and hard to control
- Teams for chat and communication
- Document creation tools
- Sharing and collaboration features for documents
- Cloud storage
- E-mail
- It makes collaboration easier
- Everything is integrated
- Fulfills need for an e-mail solution
I haven't used many alternatives for Microsoft 365 [(formerly Office 365)], as Microsoft still seems to be the standard for office applications. I have used Apple's iWork applications (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), which I like quite a bit better for use on the Mac. They are better design-wise, but they don't offer an option for Windows users and don't really compare as far as a complete packaged office solution like Microsoft 365.
