Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is being deployed using Azure stack on top of cloud services in an on-premise environment setup in our organization. It is prominently operated by our IT department to provide on-demand scalable platform solution to be used by support and business units. Main users in the organization are product departments who are responsible to deliver digital services and data monetization business units.
  • The ability to allocate resources: storage capacity, memory availability and processing power-on-demand dynamically are the main strengths.
  • Platform compatibility with leading technologies and international standards.
  • Excellent after-sales support is definitely one of the key factors in using Microsoft Azure.
  • There is a lot of room for improvement in the pricing schema.
  • Regional availability needs to be improved, since some governments regulate that physical data center must sit within their jurisdictional location.
  • 'Vendor lock-in' risk might jeopardize the user's bargaining position.
  • By deploying Microsoft Azure, we are able to cut-down mean-time-to-response in delivering our products and services.
  • Scalability is one of the key factors in growing our business.
  • Dynamic and on-demand resource allocation allows us to reduce capital expenditure.
Scalability and security are two main values which Microsoft Azure brings, On top of that, it also has lots of hybrid options and great support. Not to mention heaps of end-to-end services that Microsoft can integrate with. These values make Microsoft Azure the go-to cost-effective hassle-free enterprise-grade cloud solution for large organizations.
Microsoft products are well-known for 24x7 global coverage of customer support. They also sometimes come with a multiple support plan, which caters to different business requirements and needs. However, more support will also mean more cost to bare. Other than that, limited options in technical training sometimes make it quite challenging in finding the right talents for managing Microsoft Azure clouds and more dependency in Microsoft technical support.
Amazon Web Services dominate cloud service market as a de facto market leader in IaaS and PaaS industry. However, Microsoft, with its Azure solution, has proven to be a formidable challenger to Amazon in cloud service, and is slowly but surely closing in the gap. Legacy systems' backward compatibility with heaps of hybrid options is Microsoft Azure area of strength. Both of which are highly relevant for large organizations with a complex mix of legacy systems to integrate cloud services to their corporate infrastructure.
Microsoft Azure is a cost-effective solution for organizations who want to spend their capital expenditure optimally. It is also a one-stop solution for acquiring multiple services from Microsoft. However, Microsoft Azure is not for organizations who are not willing to take the risk of having one vendor as both infrastructure and platform provider.
