Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Data Protection Manager
It was used by our IT to protect Virtual Machine and File Server data. Also, to speed up the recovery process of the entire company. It helped us with fast recovery of lots of data every time we needed it. Other areas of the company don't use it but gain the benefit of the tool in our IT, and recognize it, as we reduced the time it takes to get back online after a failure.

I think they're very good tools, but Data Protector has lots of client options, while with Microsoft Data Protection Manager the focus is windows. But, Microsoft Data Protection Manager is much better in a virtual machine (Hyper-V world) and windows servers. If this is your scenario, maybe Microsoft Data Protection Manager is your choice. But, if you need to mix between Windows and Linux servers, maybe Data Protector could be your choice also.
