Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft IIS

Microsoft IIS is utilized as part of our Siebel and other intranet web applications to support the Canadian Immigration System. It is used across the entire department for applications utilized worldwide.
  • Integrates with Active Directory to provide single sign-on with out prompting for a password
  • Simple and easy to deploy
  • Security Patches are included as part of OS Patching
  • Nothing comes to mind--product works as expected.
  • Positive - easy to install, included with all versions of Windows Servers
  • Positive - Newer vesions of IIS are backwards compatible to support older applications
  • Positive - Configuration of IIS can be performed via Powershell
Positive: Better integration with Active Directory
Negative: Appache Tomcat is open source and can be deployed on all operating systems including Linux, which allows for easier cross-platform deployments.
Lots of support and articles from both Microsoft and third parties.
Simple user interface with lots of power if you start digging deeper
