Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Power BI is a perfect platform for us in order to display the data in an useful and interactive way.
Before starting to use Power BI, there were a lot of work needed for some meetings (as you had to do same slide for all the possible scenarios) and there were not much flexibility during the discussions.
Now all the flexibility can be addapted during the conversations, making faster and clearer decissions as you can visualize everything with a couple of clicks.
Also it is superflexible in terms of connection to different data providers, so you can combine a lot of information from various places in just one dashboard.
  • Data visualization
  • Flexibility
  • Different data connectors
  • Speed when big volumes of data
  • Selflearning from the data
  • Transparency
  • Standarization
  • Speed up the decissions
Power BI was perfectly integrated in our Microsoft ecosystem what makes everything easier also, the fast evolution that has happened over the last years and their reaction to our needs is something that makes the differents.
They listen to the customer and as they do a lot of releases with new capabilities, they try to include in the new realeses what is relevant for the customers.

Do you think Microsoft Power BI delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Power BI's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Power BI live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Microsoft Power BI go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Microsoft Power BI again?

Yes

Once you get into the way of using it, it is a super powerful tool and becomes your "new excel" as everything is easier in Power BI and you have same power than in Excel (except for small things...).
But the starting is difficult, it is a new tool that feels like make for data analysts or experts and not for everyone, what i have learned is not true, as with a bit of training everybody can use the tool. I think something needs to change there or some extra on boarding should be done in order to make it super accesible from the beginning.
It is a fantastic tool, you can do almost everything related with data and reports, it is a perfect substitutive of Power Point and Excel with a high evolution and flexibility, and also it is very friendly and easy to share.
I think all companies should have Power BI (or other BI tool) in their software package and if they are in the MS Suite, for sure Power BI should be the one due to all the benefits of the MS ecosystem.
In operations we use the tool for many different topics, from factory quality systems to high level reviews.
We have created kind of an internal "App Store" based on Power BI where you have a lot of different dashboards for different solutions (cost, cash, health and safety, sales, factories, distribution centers...) and you as an user just need to get in that "App Store" and enter in whatever tool can be useful for you. It is open to all the operations employees and can use on demand.
Also it has raised the imagination of our colleagues, as they are not only working by themselves creating new reports, but also raising fantastic ideas that can be extended for the usage of all the community.
