Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle are both extremely powerful and scalable enterprise relational database platforms. Microsoft SQL sets itself apart with its ease of use and licensing and support model. Microsoft is good company to work with and they provide clear and predictable licensing terms. Oracle is difficult to work with, they use vague licensing terms and you're always waiting for the next audit.
