Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams

I am using Microsoft Teams as my daily communication tool outside of email. I work with people across many different departments, and it is much easier to chat quickly than to send 15 emails back and forth. I can also easily attach files or images and get those quickly to the right person, and it also ties in with Microsoft Office and Outlook which is useful. Right now only a select group of users are on Teams, but we are trying to transition everyone to it from our old chat software.
  • Easy to use and get started. Little to no learning curve for new users.
• Screen sharing and file sharing options.
  • Microsoft Office Plug-Ins and other Add-Ins for Salesforce, Jira, etc.
  • Difficult to use group chats or grouping contacts compared to Slack.
  • Better UI could be useful.
  • More integrations with other software would take it to the next level.
  • Teams has made my work across departments MUCH easier!
  • Productivity has definitely increased, as emails take much more time and are not always necessary. Teams have also been able to eliminate unnecessary meetings in many cases.
  • If used incorrectly, I can see how it would be abused. We have not had that issue yet, but it could become a time suck for the chatty Kathys out there.
Slack is a little flashier than Teams from a UI standpoint, but it is also much more expensive for an organization to get started on. Teams comes as part of the Office package, and so it is easy to onboard people and get them started for little cost to the organization. The Teams mobile app is also on par with Slack, which is a major selling point.
Teams is great for people you need to be talking to constantly, like a project manager or close co-worker who sits in a different department. It is not going to be used best as a simple chat app, although it does that well. It shines in all the integrations, the mobile app capabilities, and the price!
