Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting

We use Abila for Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, Fixed Assets, Budget, Invoicing (AR), and reporting. Myself and one other are the primary users and our Executive Director is an intermittent user for contingency purposes (at one time she was the Accounting Manager). It does a good job with all the features we use. Good, but not great.
  • Reliability.
  • Doesn't change.
  • Support is great.
  • Font size is too small and not adjustable.
  • Organized poorly for ease of training. Try explaining the difference between Transactions and Activities to a new employee!
  • Inability to archive old records is a real problem for us. Why should we have to pay an outside entity?
  • Inability to fully remove inactive codes from the tables. Admins should be able to edit/remove codes on the tables.
  • Stability is taken for granted. No time spent modifying or re-learning system.

Do you think MIP Fund Accounting delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with MIP Fund Accounting's feature set?

Yes

Did MIP Fund Accounting live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of MIP Fund Accounting go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy MIP Fund Accounting again?

Yes

Prompt friendly accurate assistance. Also taken for granted, probably.
It's not an easy system. The organization of menus and options makes very little sense, It's "clunky," but it is reliable and stable. It's like a good Ford that lasts beyond everybody's fancier cars with fancier features.
The best thing about the system is also its weakness. It never changes and can't be changed or reconfigured or modified or improved.
