Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting

It is being used for all of our payroll and accounting systems. Being a nonprofit that is federally and state funded, we must have a secure program that can track each grant separately. It was recommended by our auditors and several other Area Agencies use it as well.
  • Budgets.
  • Tracking grant expenses.
  • Payroll.
  • Benefits.
  • It needs an alert if a document or JE number has already been used.
  • The initial setup was time consuming but once we got it up and running, it has worked well.

We have one consultant that we talk to and she is very knowledgeable. She can remote in and does her thing. We rarely have to use support.
Once it is set up, it is pretty user friendly. It does take some getting used to but then it works like clockwork.
QB didn't give enough security or division for the grants.
If you don't need to track multiple funding sources or need audit security, QuickBooks may be fine. The initial setup is very time consuming. And you have to set up the reports if you add an account or program.
