Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting

I have been using Abila for the last 3 years to keep the books for a Not for Profit organization consisting of 13 entities. The entities vary in scope from consulting to real estate. The software is very accommodating for not-for-profit accounting that consists of grants, budgeting, etc. The MIP Fund accounting software does not accommodate the real estate quite as well, simply because it is not made for it.
  • A lot of reporting options are available
  • The multi-entity database flows well
  • Simple formatting
  • Ease of use
  • Real Estate functionality
  • Billing module is cumbersome
  • Creating reports can be confusing
  • Reduced entering time once we switched to multi-entity database
We use all types of reports because of how many different fields we encompass. Reporting works really well to generate grant or location reports to show financials. Getting the reports to appear how you like can be a little confusing at times. Once they are set to your liking they work perfectly.
Having real estate entities requires more complex software to accommodate rental and lease terms which are not a part of this software. The use of MIP for tracking grants and programs does work really well. Just know if you are going to use the software for other types of accounting you may need to tie in other software in order to meet your needs.

Do you think MIP Fund Accounting delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with MIP Fund Accounting's feature set?

No

Did MIP Fund Accounting live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of MIP Fund Accounting go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy MIP Fund Accounting again?

Yes

I would highly recommend Abila for its ease of use for any type of fund or grant accounting. We also use it for Real Estate including leasing which the software does not have any modules to accommodate.
