Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP)
We utilize MIP for our full-cycle accounting system
and it is able to satisfy payment issuance, vendor file maintenance, cash
application, financial reporting, etc. One of the great benefits we have in the system is the
ability for it to generate ACH payment files and send automated payment
notifications to vendors when payments are issued. We previously used MIP for our payroll and budgeting processes as well. The accounting and
finance staff are the only users of MIP.

- Import of accounting entries of all types.
- Managing allocations of costs.
- Integrations are limited but MIP has partnered with specific businesses to allow for some integration.
- Some may say it doesn't have a nice user-friendly feel because it is not Excel-based, but I have come to like the user interface and product.
- It meets all the needs of our accounting team and we are happy to have this product.
- From a budget perspective, it doesn't have as robust of a process and we have decided to purchase another budget product.
QuickBooks does not have the ability to meet the complex needs of our organization. We have a very extensive chart of accounts given we receive state and federal grant funding. We have to be very detailed when it comes to putting expenses in the system and we must have a detailed way to track and MIP provides this in many ways where QuickBooks Online is not able to.
