Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is used in various applications. It's used to support the Agile methodology. Miro allows the facilitation of planning - my team is using it to generate ideas for stories or epics. It allows us to see interconnections of stories and epics and to put them in the context of sprints (timeframe). Also, Miro is used during backlog refinement and Retro sessions (we are generating ideas for improvements or pain points and choosing which we will take as a part of the agenda).
  • It allows us to work on one common board for many participants.
  • It helps to visualize ideas.
  • It helps to see stories or dependencies.
  • When there are a lot of participants, Miro tends to freeze or even break - performance could be better.
  • It would be good to be able to fill the chosen block and fill it quickly with the same text.
  • Improved productivity.
  • Time spent on PI planning sessions decreased thanks to Miro (as we learned to operate this tool).
I wasn't involved in the implementation of Miro at my company; it was already in use when I joined. I can just say that we are also using other software meant to facilitate the Agile way of working and Miro has its use where for example Jira is not the best tool (previously mentioned gatherings of many participants of Hub where we have to make collective decisions or showcase Product Increment).
We are using MIRO as a standalone tool. It's not integrated with anything else. Maybe as part of hyperlinks to stories that my team tends to paste inside of a block to streamline work with MIRO & JIRA. But from my personal experiences with other software (Clickup), I can say that integration is very easy and straightforward and works very well.
In our organization, we are working from different locations and on top of that lockdown hasn't allowed us to gather in one place for PI planning as it was in past. In this critical time, we have had at least 4 PI plannings online and Miro was a key tool to allow us to go through this process. It is hard to imagine how we would cope without it.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is best for collaboration and idea generation. It helps to put ideas in context and show dependencies. It is best for small chunks of information on every block. It's not the best tool to put a lot of text or information. It serves very well in the Agile way of working on occasions such as planning or a retrospective of a sprint or Product Increment.
