Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Within my team, we use Miro for running most of our Agile ceremonies (especially retrospectives) and for designing projects and solutions collaboratively. Based on what I see, Miro is also widely used across the rest of the company, as it has helped during the pandemic to maintain an active collaboration between all the employees.
  • During the retrospectives, Miro provides a colourful and interactive board, that increases engagement.
  • During design discussions, it is easy and intuitive to represent your idea and present it to the rest of the contributors.
  • It is possible to ensure that only specific people can access aboard (if required) and it allows for anonymity (this is particularly useful during retrospectives).
  • Due to its costs, it is difficult to have a license for everyone in a company, therefore I cannot always use all the features I'd like to use (such as the timer, adding emoji, or exporting as PDFs...)
  • I'm not sure if Miro has already this functionality, but I would love to have some shortcuts for specific actions (such as drawing a line, connecting shapes automatically, etc.)
  • It would be interesting to have a quick link to templates (for running retrospectives for example) and to links that explain how to use them.
  • Positive impact: thanks to our Agile coach and Miro, we have resumed doing regular retrospectives, so I would say that we went from 1 retrospective every 2 months to 2 retros per month.
  • We have been using Miro for the past year and a half and the number of licenses used has increased, so I believe Miro is bringing value to my company.
  • Improved productivity during meetings, as we are able to not go over time, thanks to useful functions like the timer.
Miro is very easy to adopt, people can be onboarded fast and without frustration. Login into Miro is good, as you either rely on authentication methods (email, SSO), or in case you need to share a board with someone who does not have a license, you can do it via a simple password.
Miro has been great for collaboration within my team and with other teams: easy to access, intuitive and it is always possible to "revisit the past". It has also the possibility to export in different formats, so that the work can be shared on other platforms, such as Atlassian Confluence or Slack.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

It is not on the list, but I have been using Excalidraw in the past as a whiteboard tool. Miro is a complete software and has certain features that make it the best solution for long-term projects and companies, while Excalidraw is very useful if you need to share an idea or a discussion with someone.
I reckon that Miro is best used as a form of a whiteboard, at least based on my experience: running retrospectives, designing a solution, and keeping track of all the contributions by different people, etc. I don't think that Miro is useful when you need to take long notes, as your only possibility is to use the text box, and it ends up being written very small in most cases.
