Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is being used as an online collaboration tool that replaces Microsoft Visio for most uses, including team brainstorming, roadmaps, and flows charts. Users of both Windows and Mac OS workstations have an equal user experience using Miro for collaboration. Our remote workforce relies on tools like Miro to facilitate online collaboration.

Pros

  • Availability (it's rarely unavailable or down)
  • Brainstorming with Sticky Notes (to capture input from others)
  • Sharing a diagram (ability to share charts with other team members)

Cons

  • User Interface (not always intuitive)
  • Training (quick reference tips for fast, easy way to learn how to use)
  • Integration with Confluence
  • remote employee engagement
  • same experience on Windows or Mac OS
  • cloud hosted
Miro has not been integrated with very many other tools at our corporation. For example, Miro has not been integrated with our cybersecurity SAML option, PingFed. We also have not integrated with Active Directory. The lack of integration with the security stack means duplicate work for each user in setting up a username and password - outside of our approved identity and access management platform.
Miro helps our remote employees to contribute during brainstorming exercises. There's no additional specific value being added that impacts our ability to collaborate. Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

No

Miro is well suited for gathering feedback from remote employees. The sticky notes feature is particularly easy to use when capturing team feedback. Miro is not the best option for creating data-driven diagrams such as roadmaps. It's also a little difficult for people to learn how to respond to the ideas of others - for example, to "like" a sticky note.
