Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for a number of things, from stand-up and retros to planning out a project and demonstrating new features. It can be hard for people to understand what is going on when just using words, Miro allows people to visually see what is going on as if looking at a whiteboard. Miro also allows team members to interact with the board, providing a more interesting and interactive meeting.

Pros

  • Miro is very easy to learn and pick up. With a single 1-hour session, anyone would be able to understand how to use Miro and would be able to use it for their own meetings.
  • It's extremely easy to insert videos and pictures into Miro.
  • It's really nice not having to care about the size of the page as there is so much room to work.

Cons

  • I would love for Miro to have a mode where everyone hears the same audio as the host the moment they join the Miro board.
  • I think Miro has an overall positive impact on business objectives. I can't quite say how much, but I can say that this is a tool that's widely used for a reason.
Overall, I think Miro has been implemented well. Sometimes it can be annoying when I switch tabs as when I go back to Miro everything needs to reload. This is particularly annoying if I have a slow internet connection as this means I end up having to wait quite a while for everything to reconnect.
I've only used Miro's integration with YouTube and it's worked pretty well for me. I don't have much experience with Miro's other integrations.
Miro has helped immensely when it comes to collaborating on new projects. As mentioned in previous comments, it makes the meetings more interactive and exciting. It also helps people understand certain concepts as people are able to see changes happen visually.

  • Lucidchart
I've tried using Lucidchart before but I found it way more difficult to use. I think the layout is not as nice and not as user-friendly. I remember being stuck for a long time searching for how to use simple features like creating shapes as I think you have to import certain shape packages or something.
Jira Software, Google Workspace
Miro is great for stand-ups and retrospective meetings, especially if you want it to be interactive and to have a custom ice breaker or something like that. Miro is also great for brainstorming and the initial planning stage as there is so much room and you don't have to be organized with your thoughts. I think Miro is less appropriate for official documentation just because of how manual it would be to update.
