Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I Use miro to brainstorm with others, conduct retros, and show user flows and steps. Right now, im using miro to show the flow of activating an online subscription and managing other users on that person's account. It's complicated but showing all the possible flows and actions a user can take using stickies helps show stakeholders who are less involved in the project. An issue is once I show the flow with Miro, since it's not a prototyping tool, I have to switch to Figma, which can be confusing for stakeholders. I'll also use miro for brainstorms and workshops, or design sprints.

Pros

  • Different colored stickies help organize different thoughts.
  • The timer helps during brainstorms.
  • Comments are super helpful.

Cons

  • I know there is a dot voting feature, but it only lets you vote on frames, not on specific parts of an image, for example. This would come in handy when looking at specific components and voting on the best ones.
  • The templates are nice but oftentimes too complicated for me to use, so ill look there for inspiration, but I usually start a board from scratch.
  • Increased participation.
  • Getting feedback easily from everyone involved in a project.
Super easy, you just need to create an account or get added to the team on Miro, and you can participate. I've definitely been an advocate for using miro instead of slide decks or other tools - not even sure what the company used before miro to brainstorm!
It definitely helps because it's a fun interface that people can easily learn how to use, so they are more likely to participate. I've held competitive analysis workshops on miro, hiding brand names and logos but having participants vote on aspects they liked. They thought it was fun instead of another boring presentation. It's also really easy to set up and organize thoughts.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro works well because visitors can comment and move around to see the work. I like having retros on miro with a quad chart for what went well, what could be improved, etc. It works well for brainstorms and getting all ideas down, and clustering similar thoughts and ideas. It's not a prototype tool, but hard for me to show a flow on miro, and then when I want to flesh it out in a low-fidelity wireframe, I need to move on Figma, which can be difficult for stakeholders just popping in and out to check progress. Its also time-consuming for analysis for moderated interviews, for example.
