Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We have a large number of teams and we currently work at a remote environment, so we have a great need for effective communication and cross-team alignment.
With that said, we use Miro at a weekly/quarterly/ad hoc cadence for:
  • sprint reviews and retrospectives
  • presentations to stakeholders
  • workshops with the teams
  • alignment among the teams

Pros

  • Real-time online collaboration
  • Many options for shapes/icons etc
  • Easy and fast manipulation of elements (duplication/alignment etc)

Cons

  • Navigation on a board (I've seen numerous times users move elements instead of moving around the board)
  • Performance can be slow at boards with numerous elements
  • Presentation mode is a bit complex to set up and manage
  • Helped with battling increased complexity within the organization
  • Reduced costs due to better alignment (ie avoided implementing the same thing twice from different teams)
  • Improved planning within the product team
We haven't integrated Miro with any other products but we use it standalone.
Since we have been working in a hybrid mode for quite a while, Miro allows us to cooperate effectively as described in previous steps. It's the only tool we are using for real time collaboration.
