Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Used as White Board (Collab space between inter-departments), Mind-map, Troubleshooting Aid (i.e., Fishbone diagram), mapping out Visual Project Management, and metric tracker (shared and on-demand access is easier than a locked MS office suite file.
Pros
- Shared and on-demand access for multiple users to make edits simultaneously.
- Scaling on cut/paste images (images scale up and down well, unlike working in other formats without image quality lost, unlike text in other formats other than png that do not scale well when size-ratio is being applied).
- Properties (which user added which element on the Miro board and at which date/time stamp was provided).
Cons
- Audit-trail
- Admin access to "revert" back to a safe space and time (assuming too many users edit by accident and hard to undo each individual edit, especially when working with finicky table structures
- Table structures are more convenient in excel than miro (easier to work in excel than cut/paste the image, but then you lose the ability to edit the cell values conveniently if the person that owned the excel file and the company have parted ways = loss of original excel file).
- Better collaboration from hybrid employees versus a non-visual meeting.
- Better engagement and participation from hybrid employees versus a non-visual meeting.
Yes. Especially helpful with international organizations where thoughts are faster than communicating in a universal language (such as English) due to visuals generating ideas and understanding faster than words are translated and then comprehended, and the non-native speaker has to think again before speaking in a second language.
