Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We work in product development in the digital marketplaces area. And use miro for a lot of typical use cases for digital product development, such as whiteboarding, ideation, planing, process visualization, workshop and documentation, etc. It's used by a diverse group of roles too. As a product designer, I use it quite extensively as both a communication, collaboration and whiteboarding tool with internal and external stakeholders.

Pros

  • co-creation workshop
  • process mapping/visualization
  • Documentations

Cons

  • A stronger and more flexible card component which allows resizing, adding details like tags, owners, etc.
  • Themed template for workshops. More in terms of creative ways of visuals to make the workshop fun and engaging. And the users can add the workshop content themselves.
  • Option to make the post it anonymous. Now you can always see the owner of the post it, which is not ideal for use cases like retro or anonymous feedback
  • increased team engagement by having everyone involved in workshops and give inputs.
  • Reduced effort of documenting as if the discussion were in Miro, it's naturally documented. Just need some cleaning up.
it's in general quite easy to use as I'm a frequent user. The navigation can be a bit confusing if i'm in multiple organizations and teams due to the need of switching orgs first. And instead of exploring the navigation, i prefer to use the search feature to find the miro board i want to use.
Whiteboard feature;
Collaboration feature;
Set a timer;
Smart and useful toolings like post it stacks, emoji reaction, stickers, interactive stickers;
Template;
integration with external system (this one is useful, but the authorization and login part feels a bit repetitive, it feels like i need to do that everytime, not sure about it though. )
Yes, so we previously also use FigJam. But with Miro, we stopped FigJam as it's more versatile and suitable for more roles and use cases.
We would a central whiteboarding collaboration tools to streamline the process and cost. And miro is more suitable for different users and use cases inside the organization and the majority of us already have license to miro and there's a solid foundation of user adoption already. So it's the most suitable tool for us at a larger scale.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

it's good for anything related to white boarding features and for any collaborative workshop. But it's not very suitable for prototyping, the features are still a bit limited for that use case. It's also a bit difficult to navigate the miroverse to some extent to find the suitable templates.
