Overall Satisfaction with Mitel MiCollab
[In my experience] it is incredibly obtuse for a non-phone system admin to get configured, and it anything but user-friendly. We love our Mitel phone system - it has all the features we need, but when we looked at using MiCollab for conferencing it became quickly obvious that the hosting providers like Zoom, GoTo, and others were far and away the better platforms.
- Hosted in-house conferencing.
- The web interface [felt] archaic.
- The requirement to use your own lines limits the number of call-ins.
- The resources of the server limit the hosting capacity.
- [In my experience] the licensing was a pain.
- [I felt] it was a waste of licensing dollars because we didn't use the product due to its difficulty and limitations.
- It could provide ROI for small, Mitel-familiar teams vs paying for a different service.
[I believe] Mitel MiCollab's conferencing doesn't stack up in comparison with any of the bigger conferencing tools. For its internal purposes, as part of a Mitel phone system, it's great (the voicemail manager is excellent), but the minute you try and host a web conference with it, the disparity between Zoom, GoTo, Teams, etc. all becomes incredibly obvious. This is especially true on a limited bandwidth network.
