Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

  • Improved case and task management.
  • Increased visibility to what everyone is working on and the status.
  • The entire team had adopted this solution 100%.
  • Now others in the organization outside of IT want to use it!
Our IT department is using monday.com to receive IT support and system change requests through web forms or emails, assign those requests to IT staff, and track the estimation, timeline, and status of the requests. It provides us with an easy to use, scalable solution for managing our teams and requests from end-users.
  • Track tasks and assignments, their owners and status.
  • Create useful automations and workflows very quickly.
  • Communicate easily with entire team about individual tasks or activities.
  • Automations should reflect who the item / pulse was actually created by, not who created the monday.com instance or the automation itself.
  • It would be great if we could use the tool to manage timesheets for our team.
  • The reports and dashboards could use a little more flexibility / functionality.
  • Automations should be expanded to include Microsoft Exchange users, not just Outlook and Gmail users.
  • Would be great if we could better tailor how email notifications look.
The interface actually IS pretty intuitive, with a user able to figure out how to do things with just a couple of minutes of looking around. It's also very colorful and simple, making it easy to read and find what you're looking for.
Response is fast, although sometimes the answer is simply that they don't have that functionality yet.
The system has been available pretty much whenever we've needed it. The one time it wasn't up in the past year and a half since we've been using it, monday.com sent out a notification that they were aware of the issue and were working it. The issue was resolved very quickly also.

Monday.com is very well suited for:
  1. Creating Roadmaps and high-level Timelines
  2. Managing issue / task / project, task assignments and task status
  3. Creating simple web forms that capture information that can be easily organized and sorted
  4. Quickly developing workflows / automations for simple business processes (like Help Desk ticket tracking for a single piece of software)
  5. Replacing timesheets that multiple people need to populate and/or have visibility to
Monday.com is less appropriate for:
  1. Detailed project planning with WBS, lag, dependencies, etc.
  2. Employee Timesheets / Time Tracking
  3. Replacing complex systems or systems that support complex processes, such as CRM, ERP, HRIS,
  4. As a document repository

Evaluating monday.com and Competitors

Yes - We were previously using JIRA, but wanted something a little more flexible, [that] had automations, and that we could also utilize to see our tasks on a Gantt Chart. Monday.com could do everything JIRA does, plus all of these additional items, and more! We made the switch to monday.com a year and a half ago and never looked back.
