Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

  • Increased Sales and Operational efficiency.
  • Better client engagement (as we have specific items for each client now).
  • Increased employee engagement (as it optimized a lot of HR processes).
We use monday.com across our whole organization. One of the main reasons we decided to make the purchase was when we had a lot of bottlenecks in our processes and communications in not only intra-departmental functions, but in cross-department projects and workflows as well. Implementing monday.com has not only helped us bridge the communication gap each departments faced, but has also kept our employees more focused and streamlined in their day-to-day work.

Pros

  • Incredibly dynamic UI and a set of features that supports a wide variety of workflows, be it if you are an entry-level employee, or a C-Suite manager.
  • A massive range of automation and integration recipes that helps keeps your workflow optimized and in the loop with the other software you would typically use (like Gmail).
  • Lightning fast customer support (at one point, my support ticket was picked up and addressed in no more than 15 minutes).
  • Customizable dashboards that allows me to easily extract and visualize data to easily present to management. Honestly saved me a ton of time churning presentation decks for board meetings.

Cons

  • There were crucial features that we wanted to use as a small organization, but monday.com placed them in the Enterprise plan (which was way higher than what we were paying for in the Pro plan). Would love to see monday.com offer these set of features in our plan, or even packaged as a one-off purchase.
The UI makes configuring the recipes very simple and easy to understand. They've taken quite a contrarian approach to automation recipe builders (like Zapier), and it takes way lesser time to set up your workflows within the board.

It did not get a perfect 10 as there were times I wanted to review my workflow from a glance. The current view on monday.com arranges automation recipes within the board on a list format, so it actually takes a while to understand what is the workflow built on the board (as you'll need to read through each and every automation). Am hoping to be able to get a visual representation of my workflow in the future for this though.
I'm a user on the Pro plan, and I can vouch that the customer support team is really defining the industry standard. They are articulate, and they respond promptly. I've tried writing in requests in different hours within the day, and never once was I left unattended for more than 12 hours.
Throughout our usage of the platform, we have not experienced any downtime within our working hours. There was probably one or two instances that monday.com was on maintenance, but they did all they could to ensure we were informed, and it was done on after working hours from where I am anyway. Overall a really pleasant experience.

Suitable Scenarios
Management of Sales Pipelines (from Lead Generation, to Handover for onboarding and closing)
  • The view types they support, and the degree of flexibility they offer are stellar and can provide you the means to build a pipeline and funnel of any kind, regardless of the product/service you're selling.
Task Management
  • It's not as friendly of a process as compared to Todoist, but with features to help optimize workload within the team, I find monday.com the better tool for managing tasks within teams.
HR
  • Gmail integration helped our HR team automate interview scheduling and email responses. We could also manage our candidates to better visualize candidate quality across hiring agencies/job application platforms.

Less Appropriate
HRMS
  • Not the best place for claims management and attendance, and would love to see something down the road for this.
Finance
  • Not the best place to crunch numbers or run financial modelling too. Dashboard is great but the widgets support data visualization at a very high level only. If you needed to parse the information more, you would typically need to export it to Excel for processing.
