Use Cases and Deployment Scope

MongoDB is our primary database our application runs on. We use it intensively for our application development and data warehousing. I have used as a datawarehouse for analytics. It currently gets data from multiple dbs like mysql, app insights logs and other Mongo instances. I primarily use it for everyday metrics and analytics reporting

Alternatives Considered

MongoDB is a robust and scalable db which offers a lot of cool features out of the box. Being open sourced and backed by a great community with developer tools like mongo compass , it was a no-brainer to go for it. It has connectors in almost all programming languages and is a great choice for nosql db

Usability

Having used MongoDB for warehousing with python , i can say it integrates pretty smoothly and is my source for further analytics as well. I have heard from other backend developers and the community that it is a signature combination with nodejs for nosql db backend. Mongo compass really makes it easy to test the queries and look at the existing data schema with summarise option.

Support Rating

Community backed MongoDB support is pretty great, you can always ask any questions or specific use cases on the MongoDB forum and you'll get a reply at the latest by 1-2 days.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are looking for a no sql db then MongoDB is one of the best open source solution with a great community who can help you to solve any problems. It has a high availability and indexing is pretty fast as well. You may have to research a bit on your use-case before going for a nosql db but if it fits your use-case then it is very developer friendly. Integrates well with nodejs, python , java etc.

MongoDB is the way to go!
