Overall Satisfaction with Namely

We are a healthcare management company that uses Namely both for our own employees as well as for our surgery center client employees. Our Human Resources department is the main user of Namely, and we manage the data, processes, and implementation. We use the system for payroll, employee onboarding and offboarding, performance reviews, timekeeping, and benefits enrollment. Across our 13 managed entities we have 400 employees.
  • Onboarding process
  • Adobe Sign integration
  • Continuous improvement based on customer feedback.
  • Integration with Namely Time is a manual process.
  • Lack of current PTO balances on timecards for Namely Time users.
  • Namely Benefits is difficult to use without much training and experience.

  • We were able to transition to a fully digital onboarding process which saved us hours in time per new hire and made the process smoother for the new hire.
  • Namely is our first HRIS and has helped the HR department to find data and information quickly.
  • Namely helped us digitize our performance management process which the company undergoes on an annual basis.
We left Paychex to find a system that incorporated HRIS and payroll and decided to choose Namely because of the all-in-one nature of the system. Our HR Director had also used Namely in the past and had experience with Namely's posture toward clients which is one of listening and improving, which we have found to be the case, as well. We appreciated that they had attempted an all-in-one solution that seemed to work, whereas we came from a mix of Paychex for payroll, our broker's benefits system, and a file system for HR information.
We implemented Namely for our company and clients simultaneously, which led to a lot of detail management. My largest complaint about the process was that the Implementation team had turnover during implementation so there was much lost in the process that we had to re-explain the complexities in our company. This led to finding mistakes months after implementation.

Namely is a user-friendly system that is continuing to improve its integration across platforms with HRIS, Benefits, Payroll, and Time. For us, a complex user with multiple clients and hundreds of hourly employees, it has been a good solution (though not without its drawbacks) and we have greatly appreciated Namely's willingness to listen to our concerns and requests for changes in the product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Namely for any company far more simple than ours—especially small entities with most, if not all, salaried employees.
Namely is a good all-in-one system, especially for companies with simple structures, mostly/only salaried employees, and in legal jurisdictions without much regulation. Most of the issues we have run into are due to the integration with Namely Time (for our 350 hourly employees) as well as due to California law, which can require more complex solutions (e.g. it is not automatic for Namely Time employee PTO to appear on the paystub as required by law).
