Overall Satisfaction with Namely

We used Namely for a variety of human resource tasks, including payroll, open enrollment, organization charts, and even coworker birthdays and work anniversaries. Every 2 weeks, I would receive my paycheck stubs in Namely. Every year, I would complete my open enrollment on Namely. And of course, we used it to see when our coworkers had upcoming birthdays so that we could do something to celebrate!
  • The best thing about Namely is that it’s extremely user-friendly. Compared to other HR software like Workday, it’s much easier to use.
  • Enrolling in my benefits has never been easier.
  • Notifications for coworkers' birthdays are great.
  • Requesting time off is easy to do on Namely.
  • From my side as a user, I have no complaints. However, my company switched to Workday (which I don’t like as much) because it offered some additional flexibility for the administrators.

  • Namely offered great employee self-service for open enrollment, payroll, updating profile/job info, and time off.
As a user (not administrator) of Namely, I can say that offers an all-in-one human resources software package that I preferred compared to industry-standard tools like Workday because of its excellent design and usability. However, my company switched to Workday (which I don’t like as much) because it offered some additional flexibility on the administrator side.
As a user of Namely (and not an administrator) I wasn't familiar with the implementation/setup process. But if there's an option to show employee work anniversaries and birthdays, select it!
Centralizing our human resource processes in Namely made all of my HR needs as an employee much simpler to deal with. Rather than go to this service for payroll, that service for open enrollment, and another for performance and goal-setting, I simply always went to Namely. It's a one-stop shop for all your HR needs!
Workday Cloud Platform, Figma, Todoist: To-Do List & Task Manager
Since I wasn't the administrator of Namely, I did not automate anything myself.
Usability is actually one of the features that I like most about Namely. Enrolling in benefits was a straightforward process that guided me through the workflow, step by step, which allowed me to feel confident that I completed all the necessary steps. Also, it breaks things down for users in an easy-to-understand way — for example, when setting the amount that I wanted to contribute to my HSA, it gave me a few options and explained each one clearly.
Namely offers an all-in-one human resource software package that outperforms industry-standard tools like Workday, particularly in terms of its excellent design and usability. I think it is best used for small to medium-sized companies — at my company, it was administered by just one person. I think that at a larger company with more complex needs, you might need the additional flexibility provided by an alternative like Workday.
