Overall Satisfaction with Nutanix AOS

We use Nutanix AOS as our main deployment platform to deploy our VMware vSphere Infrastructure in our datacenter and in all our remote sites, branch offices. It allows us to deploy and expend in a timely manner. We are currently reviewing the move to the virtualization layer from Nutanix to remove our license from VMware.
  • Easy one-click upgrade
  • Rapid deployment
  • Easy to manage and use
  • The main con is that the solution relies on the network switch outside of the Nutanix block.
  • As soon as we leverage the virtualization layer from Nutanix, the ROI will be a no-brainer.
  • We have the possibility to rapidly deploy infrastructure when we do M&A transactions to secure the IT at the new site.
Each time we had to open incidents with Nutanix support, they were quick to respond and very knowledgeable. They own their product like nobody else and they even will help troubleshoot VMware-specific issues with us and the VMware engineer.

  • Existing Relationship with the Vendor
The price point is good. We have the ability to bring our own hardware, but we decided to go all-in with the Nutanix hardware. Our local vendor is very knowledgeable and can help us scale our next purchase.
I think that one of the main advantages of using Nutanix is that they can help us right-size our environment and we can always add nodes/blocks to increase our computing or storage needs. Using SSD as caching helps us to gain speed for our applications.
We made benchmarks and evaluated other storage solutions. But the HCI component and the integration from storage, computer, virtualization are what mostly made the choice clear for us.
Nutanix AOS is perfect in a datacenter to deploy as computer and storage node. It has good integration with VMware so we can manage our VM from Nutanix Prism Central. We use it in about 20 remote sites as a local server that needs to be on-site for low latency and redundancy.
