Overall Satisfaction with OneDrive

I use it for both personal and professional needs. In the professional area I use it mostly for communication and collaborative work. It allows to work in a same project without the need of being in the same location, while accessing different resources no matter the type of file: spreadsheets, word documents, or slide presentations. The different synchronization tools allows to always have access to files and keep them updated, without worrying about losing unsaved work or being unable to access files.
  • Sync functions allow to access work virtually anywhere
  • Collaboration options make working with others easier, increasing productivity
  • It works seamlessly in different devices
  • The one drive online functions allows to use office programs like work and excel without having them installed in a device
  • Some functions and apps are not available to all countries/regions
  • The one drive app takes too much space in mobile devices
  • The apps for mobile devices lack some tools, like the option to search templates
  • It could allow to manually plan when to sync, specially photos, which take long times to sync
  • Synchronization functionality
  • Easy and secure cloud storage
  • Access to all office 365 programs
  • Accessible in all kinds of devices
  • Higher productivity unrestricted by location or time
  • More organized resources and files
  • Less used memory space = more space for other software
The most similar in functions would be Google Drive, however I chose One Drive because first, it allows to use all of office 365 software, which is universally used and preferred because of its trajectory. One Drive syncs directly with windows, which allows to use the desktop apps without logging into the internet version to work. Additionally, the app versions for other devices (word, excel, etc.) are all similar and work seamlessly. It also gives a lot of storage in the cloud that for the price is completely worth it in comparison to the free Google Drive.

One Drive also eliminates the need for file transfer apps like WeTransfer, which has function restrictions and may take a long time to load and send. Also, after sending it you have to repeat the whole process if the document has any modification made; with one drive everything is automatic and you just have to focus in the work itself, not in sending it back and fort between collaborators.

Now, regarding Canva and Miro, both are great tools for collaborative work, however they are limited in the format and kind of file. They are only suited for creative/graphic work.

  • For collaborative work both in education and professional areas.
  • For personal work in multiple devices, and "on the go" work.
  • It's great for work that takes a lot of memory space, because it is saved in the cloud, not the device itself.
  • It's a great tool for anyone working with a lot of creative files that can't be stored in small devices like USBs.
