Overall Satisfaction with OpenText Enterprise Content Management (ECM)

Currently, Open Text Documentum Enterprise Content Management is being used by our accounts receivable department. Implementation is in progress for legal, procurement contracts and engineering.
  • Uniform document repository
  • Document types accepted
  • Inbound and outbound integrations
  • Outdated system architecture
  • Productized supplemental products (AP Xcelerator)
  • Allowed us to move from paper document processing and storage
  • Efficiency and cost savings have yet to be realized
  • Moved from field handling to centralized AP collection
  • The cost to implement and the purchase was extremely high and ROI benefits will take a long time to realize
If the client is only looking for a document repository with and does not require substantial inbound or outbound integrations, document processing, analytics or metadata grouping or workflow and business processing.

Evaluating OpenText Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Competitors

Features and underlying technology and development roadmap are much better for both Docushare and Confluence. OpenText product was preselected when I came into the implementation of the project. It should not have been.
