Overall Satisfaction with OpenText Media Management (OTMM)

It is a enterprise wide system we use to manage all our rich media assets. Creative Services is one of the primary users, but it is used by several departments across the organization.
  • Manage Security permission/ access (it is complex, but flexible)
  • We have several million images in the system and it is still just as responsive
  • Multiply was to organize the assets, with folders, collections, relationships, groups
  • Metadata creation and management is great, we have over 30-50 metadata fields and it helps us find our assets faster.
  • direct integration with other systems. Not sure it will ever happen native as it would be with competitors, but would be nice
  • the download and export is clunky and need works
  • the ability to quickly look at thousands of images quickly for review is not possible
  • We have moved from a team that can only respond to requests and try and keep up, to one that is planning and managing the collection, instead of letting the collection manage us
  • We can ensure for Legal, that any image that is used in a design we have full right and permission to use, as everything is managed with in OTMM
  • We can now understand what and how people are searching our collection and we can add to or fix metadata to make the system more responsive.
OTTM team is great, the support and the user community they have built is amazing. I have check in with the product development team and they listen and are responsive. I can say enough about the user community, from the big big companies to the smaller ones, everyone is open and willing to help each other out.

Yes

Did implementation of OpenText Media Management (OTMM) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy OpenText Media Management (OTMM) again?

Yes

Over all it is fine, the system does have it quirks and challenges, I wish we could see the assets in bulk faster, it would be nice if there was more control around how things are downloaded. Overall the UI is clean and works well. the searching always works, and we have never had it not work when we need it to. the collections, sharing and links all work great.
It is expensive and needs dedicated support but it is a overall good product. I also really like the Dev team and support teams, they are really responsive and the community of users that support each other is great. You need an enterprise team to support this, it is not meant for a small team or shop.
