Overall Satisfaction with OpsCompass
Our small DevOps/CloudOps team uses OpsCompass to track the cloud resources in our AWS instances. When we started using it, we set a baseline of cloud resources--and OpsCompass runs daily scans to detect any changes compared to the baseline. It's been an extremely helpful tool to provide us with a clear, up-to-date view of all the resources in our clouds. Before OpsCompass, getting a complete inventory of resources was surprisingly hard, and now it's surprisingly easy. We can detect which resources have increased and whether those changes came from a user or a system.
We recently added resource costs to OpsCompass, which now gives us the cost impact of the changes happening in our AWS instance. This will easily pay for OpsCompass--instead of a bill from AWS for last month's unexpected cost surges, we'll see them right away and can intercept unexpected cost increases.

- Quick inventory of all my cloud resources
- Detects changes to my cloud resources--including the source of the changes (user or system)
- Cost impacts of changes to my cloud infrastructure
- I don't use the CIS compliance features yet--I'd like to try those.
- Currently, OpsCompass is a scan-only tool. I'd like OpsCompass to be able to prevent some types of resource changes--it would be a big help with handling potential security concerns.
- Team Efficiency--We've delayed hiring one additional ops person, thanks to OpsCompass.
- Intercepting Unexpected AWS Costs--We see all resource changes and can prevent the ones that cause unexpected cost increases.
In this price range, we didn't find any other tools that provide this degree of cloud resource visibility. It's been an efficiency game-changer. I hope we'll see new modules as they expand their features to include active resource management policies. They've done such a good job of anticipating the needs of our CloudOps team, I plan to evaluate those new features (if/when they arrive).
